23/24/25 July 2010  Coffs Harbour & Dist KC 

As usual only my 2 beardies.  What a fantastic weekend nevertheless.  BJ was Best of Breed and BEST IN GROUP at all 3 shows and also RUNNER UP BEST IN SHOW at the Sat show.  Miss Toni was RUBOB.  Thanks to the panel of judges:   Mrs J Hocking (Vic), Mr WE Mooney (Vic) and special thanks to Mrs M Hickie (NSW).  Mrs Hickie had also given Koopa a BIS many years ago so was lovely that she also liked her son.

 

17/18th July 2010 North of the Harbour Winter International

7 Beardies on Saturday and 5 Sunday.  BJ was BOB both days and made the cut for group both days while Miss Toni was RUBOB both shows.  A lovely weekend weather wise the sun was glorious and I got sunburnt.  Cold starts to the day but worth it. 

 

3/4 July 2010 Moree Kennel Club (held at Gunnedah) 

Another local show for us.  Again my 2 beardies were the only ones entered but the working group was large.  BJ was Best of Breed both shows with BEST IN GROUP on Saturday under Mrs C Pearen (Qld) and Miss Toni got Aust Bred In Group as well - Go MUZ. Sunday saw BJ take Runner up to Best in Group thanks to Ms L Dorr (Qld).  Next weekend is a rare weekend off for us.  So Muz informs me that he is working Sat.  Oh well better not complain he has taken heaps of Fridays off.

 

 

25/26/27 June 2010  Lismore & Dist Kennel Club 

It was our first trip to Alstonville where this show is held.  My 2 beardies were the only two and Fri BJ was BOB & Runner Up Best in Group. Miss Toni was RUBOB and Rave at his last show with us was Minor Puppy in Group.  Thanks to Judge Mr T Syme (Vic).  We wish Rave all the best in his new Show home.  Look out Qld here comes the Rave.  Sat Toni was BOB & BJ RUBOB and Sun BJ was BOB & Toni RUBOB.  We came home through Grafton to Glen Innes.  What a lovely drive - very pretty. 

 

18/19/20 June 2010 

Another 3 day weekend and I went over on Thursday to set up.  Still recovering from the long weekend was pleased to not have a long drive to get there.  Only my 2 beardies there.  Friday BJ BOB & Toni RUBOB, Little Rave took a 6 point BOB and Minor Puppy in Group.

Sat BJ BOB & Toni RUBOB and BJ went on to Best in Group - Thanks to Judge: Mr W Stevenson.  Little Rave took the 6 points again. 

Sunday BJ was also BOB & Best in Group, Toni RUBOB and Rave again took Minor Puppy in Group.  Thanks to Judge: Mrs J Gotch.  Fastastic weekend with great friends, great food and lots of laughs.  Thanks Everyone.

June Long weekend

- we headed north on the Thurday evening for a 7 hour drive to Caboolture Ag show.  A huge entry of Beardies with 10 entered.  Miss Toni took Best of Breed, Aust Bred in Group (thanks to Judge T Thomas) and Australian Bred in Show (thanks to Judge: Mrs J Bennett (NZ)) and BJ was DCC. 

Day 2 saw us showing at the Collie Club Specialities at Durack - Little Rave was a good boy and was placed at both shows. 

Day 3 was the first of the International Panel.  4 beardies and BJ was BOB with Toni RUBOB.  BJ made the cut in a strong line up for group.  The judge had a ball and was pleasent to show too. 

Day 4 BJ was again BOB and Toni RUBOB but BJ went on to BEST IN GROUP thanks to judge Mr R Dempsey (RSA).  Awesome win with strong competition.  Then the long drive home. 

 

4/5th June 2010

Newcastle & Merewether CCC First show Friday BJ was BOB & Miss Toni RUBOB.  Sat Am Show BJ was again BOB & Miss Toni RUBOB.  BJ Also made the cut for group. 

Sat PM show = Miss Toni was Res CC but BJ was Best of Breed, Best in Group and BEST IN SHOW.

30th May 2010 Bearded Collie Club of NSW

25 bearded Collies entered and BJ was Best in Show and Miss Toni won the Aust Bred Bitch class so was Opposite Sex Aust Bred In Show.  What a Day!  Thank you to Judge Mrs Joan Hutton (NSW) a Lovely win under a Working Dog Specialist.  Thank You.

St George Kennel Club Today there were 3 beardies there.  BJ was Runner Up To Best of Breed & Miss Toni RCC.

 

21st/22nd/23rd May 2010 Manilla Kennel Club

Friday there were only my 2 beardies there and today BJ was BOB & BEST IN GROUP/Open in Group, Miss Toni RUBOB, Rave BPOB - thanks to Judge Mr B Marquette (NSW).

Sat BJ was BOB & Runner Up to Best in Group, Toni RUBOB & Rave 3rd in Sweepstakes.  Thanks to Judge Mrs J Smith (NSW)

Sun Toni was BOB & BJ RUBOB.  Rave BPOB.  Great weekend = great company = great food = lots of laughs thanks everyone. 

 

While the Bus was towed to Tamworth I spent a lovely 8 days in NZ and got to visit with our new Grand daughter Millie.  Not long enough though.

 

9th May 2010 Newc & Northern

BJ was again BOB & Runner up to BEST IN GROUP and Miss Toni RUBOB.  Thanks to judge Mr Tan Oo Hock (Malasia). What a weekend.

 

8th May 2010 Newcastle & Northern

5 beardies entered and today BJ was Best of Breed & Best in Group / Open in Group, Miss Toni BCC and little Rave Baby Puppy in Group.  Thanks to Judge Mr K Kashiwagi (Japan).

The day only got better with Hunter Region Working Dog.  BJ was Best of Breed and

BEST IN SHOW / OPEN IN SHOW and Miss Toni RUBOB.  Special thanks to Mrs L Harris (NZ) for BJ's first Best in Show.  WOW WHAT A DAY.

 

7th May 2010  Newcastle & Northern District

4 beardies entered but only 3 there and BJ was BOB and Miss Toni RUBOB, Rave was a good boy again and BPOB. 

 

Laura, Paul, Ethan, Murray & I all ventured off for 2 weekends of showing at Gunnedah and then on to Grafton.  The bus was supposed to be fixed for this trip but the USELESS mechanic didn't get it done.  So tents and cabanas had to surfice.  I will do a shortened version of results as there were only my two Beardies.  BJ was BOB at all the shows - he went RUBIG at Gunnedah first day, Best in Group at Maclean, RUBIG at the first two Grafton shows along the way picking up 2 Open in Groups.  Thanks to Judges:  Mrs McCann (Qld), Mrs Barrett (NZ), Mr Camac (SA) and Mrs Cook (Vic).  Miss Toni not to be out done managed 2 Australian Bred in Groups and Little Rave who is finally getting his head together picked up 2 2nds in Sweepstakes and a Baby Puppy in Group.  Yippee.

 

We had a lovely time away and other than a very wet last day at Gunnedah the weather was perfect.  Lots of fish for meals (thanks Paul & Laura) and lots of special cuddle time with Ethan. 

 

Going Back to the useless Mechanic (whom I told to jam it) the bus is now being towed to Tamworth.  This could have happened 6 months ago if he hadn't strung us along.  Oh well - still a dead motor with a few less bits on it now.  Anyone know a good mechanic?

 

 

16th April 2010 Toowoomba Royal

We travelled up Thursday night to show Friday.  5 beardies entered.  Today BJ was Dog Challenge and RUBOB and Miss Toni was Bitch Challenge and Best of Breed.  She also made the last 6 for Group.  Lovely. Very tiring trip and enjoyed a couple of days at home for the rest of the weekend building up stamina for our Holiday starting on Wednesday.

 

10th April 2010 Stroud Show Assn

What an awesome show and so much to do and see.  This is our first time to Stroud for about 6 years.  Today Toni was Bitch Challence & Runner Up to Best of Breed and best Australian Bred in Group and BJ was Best of Breed, Best in Group, Open in Group and Runner Up to Best In Show.  Thanks to Judge: Mr JL Sheppard (NSW) for making today fantastic.

4th April 2010  Sydney Royal Easter Show

Always a favorite of everyone and this year was no exception.  BJ was 2nd in a class of 4 Open dogs and Miss Toni was 2nd in Open Bitch class.  Nothing for us this year - oh well - we all had a lovely day.  Obviously new lucky knickers weren't lucky LOL.

28th March 2010 Newcastle AH&I

Today we returned for the judging of Best In Show.  BJ - despite the heat - showed his heart out for Runner Up to Best in Show and Best Open in Show.  Huge thanks to Judge: Mr J Lowbridge (NSW) for making this one of our luckiest shows.  We have only attended this show twice for a Best in Show (with Koopa) and now a Runner Up.  Will have to come back next year LOL.  We also had a lovely weekend with Robin (my sister) visiting from NZ.  It was lovely to catch up with her and neat for one of our NZ family to finally meet Ethan.  It also made for some very loooooooooooonnnnng nights and I am absolutely exhausted.

        

27th March 2010

Very confusing for us all today with BJ and I attending Newcastle AH&I show where he was BOB (3 entered - 2 shown) and went on to Best Exhibit in Group & Open in Group - Thank You to Judge: Mr M Arthur (NSW).

Miss Toni and Rave went to Bay City where Toni was the only Beardie shown  Thanks to Judy Docksey for handling her for breed.  I managed to make it back in time for group to show her to the last 3 for group.  Laura showed Rave and he did really well for her also getting BPOB. Thanks Laura.

 

We showed everyone for the PM show of Bay City where Toni beat BJ for BOB and was again shortlisted for BIG and was awarded Best Australian Bred in Group - Thank you to Judge: Mrs B Marsh (Vic)

  

26th March 2010 Bay City All Breeds

3 beardies today with BJ getting BOB and Toni BCC.  Rave was a bit unsure of the judges tonight but was still BPOB.  I also won the raffle - a huge basket of goodies.  Yippee.

 

21st March 2010  Liverpool & Dist KC

5 beardies entered and only 3 there with Toni again not being shown.  BJ was BOB and made the shortlist for group.  Rave was a little trooper and won a class of 3 baby's.

   

20th March 2010 Novocastrian Ladies C A

Two shows today.  Today was Rave "Kazjs Born To Boogie" first shows and we had him in the sweepstakes first.  He did really well for his first time in the ring and was awarded 2nd Place.  Thanks to judge Mrs E Knox (NSW).  My beardies were the only ones there and BJ was BOB Miss Toni had the weekend off as she is in full season.  BJ then went on to Runner Up to Best in Group = thanks to Judge: Mrs R Nagle (NSW).

At the second show BJ was BOB but didn't go any further.  Rave was Baby of Breed at the Am show and was beaten by his brother at the pm show and did not place in the sweepstakes at the PM show.

 

14th March 2010 The Lake District Canine Club

Melissa was again on the end of Toni's lead after having a sensational Border Speciality yesterday - Well Done Team Nahrof on your clean sweep.  Today BJ was again BOB (making the cut for group) and Miss Toni again took out Best Australian Bred in Group thanks to Judge Mrs N Zimmerle (Qld).  The house looks quite bare with all the trees gone but the time needed to maintain the pool will be a godsend and NO BATS>  The interior painting is lovely and I am thrilled with how it all looks.  New tenants move in this coming week.  Thanks to Laura for her help over the weekend and again thanks to my fantastic handlers.

 

13th March 2010 The Lake District Canine Club

Murray & Paul had the unenviable task of removing all the palms and a very large Gum Tree around our pool at the house so Laura and I toddled off to the dog shows.  Today BJ was BOB and BEST IN GROUP & Open In Group and Miss Toni was RUBOB.  Thanks to Judge Mr J Lowbridge (NSW).

At the second Show  Miss Toni was again RUBOB to BJ but she went Australian Bred in Group thanks to Judge: Mr J Rowles (NSW).  Toni was handled today by Ashley Bennet  Thanks Ash.

 

7th March 2010 Bathurst Royal

4 beardies entered and Miss Toni (ably handled by Lauren Somers) was BOB & BJ was RUBOB.  Well done to Lauren on going Best In Show with Grif and Puppy in Show with Smudge.

 

6th March 2010 Blacktown Kennel & Training

Well after a false start in going to the wrong grounds we made the show.  BJ was BOB and made the Cut for Group while Miss Toni was RUBOB. 3 beardies there

 

28th Feb 2010 Medowie & District

Today the kids were on their own too and again BJ was best of Breed.  He then went on to Best in Group & Open In Group.  Thanks to judge Mrs C Speed (Qld)

    

27th Feb 2010 Comboyne A&H

Had the most amazing drive up to the show (see redbubble site - Link on photoz page) and an amazing show.  BJ & Toni were the only beardies and BJ was BOB - He then went on to Best in Group under working dog Specialist Mrs R Ralphs and then Runner Up to Best in Show under Mrs V Morrow.  Thanks to you both.

 

21st Feb 2010 Hawkesbury

Again another choice to just do one day of the weekend at the dog shows.  We finished cleaning up the house and pottered around here on Sat.  4 beardies entered and BJ was Best of Breed and shortlisted for Group and Miss Toni was only RCC today.  Could see what the judge was looking for and was really happy for another shortlist with quality competition.

 

13 Feb 2010 Camden Haven PHI

I was extremely annoyed to arrive at this show and be charged $15 to get in the gate.  What an rediculous charge - considering we go to untold Ag shows through the year do they really think we should pay this amount on top of entries etc.  Beside that however the grounds were lovely and much better than when we went there years ago.

BJ was Best of Breed, Best in Group/Open in Group and to the last 3 for Best in Show.  Thanks to Judge Mrs A Barr (NSW) and Mr WF Stevenson (NSW).  Miss Toni was Runner up Best of Breed and Best Australian Bred in Group Too.  Lovely day but VERY HOT.

 

6 Feb 2010 T&G All Breeds Sydney.

Only 3 beardies for tonights show - BJ was BOB, Last 3 for group and Open in group thanks to Mrs S Lancaster (NSW) Miss Toni (ably handled by Veronica - Thanks) was RUBOB.  Teamed with rain for most of the night.  We were entered in the show on Sun too but the house and pool needed some cleaning up so we spent the day cleaning up tenants mess.  Oh well - if we sell it - it will all be worth the effort.

 

29/30/31 Jan 2010 Beenleigh & Redcliffe shows

The humidity at these shows was awful and I struggled all weekend with running and breathing.  5 Beardies entered with a scratching in the bitches.  We ventured up for these shows under an International Panel.  Friday saw BJ being refused his class in Open dog for having a level/Pincer bite.  It is time that Australian Dog show Committees make sure that Overseas judges are aware of and JUDGE to the Australian Standards.  Some of these judges need re-educating as to which country they are in.  In a lot of the cases in the working dogs this judge put inferior animals into higher awards just because they had scizzor bites.  The pincer bite is allowable in a lot of the breeds where she refused awards This extract taken from the ANKC website in the Bearded Collie Standard.  "The teeth large and white, the incisors of the lower jaw fitting tightly behind those of the upper jaw. However, a pincer bite is acceptable."  What an idiot.

Saturday's judging was a test of nerves for me and after considering not showing BJ was happy to report that he was Best of Breed and RUNNER UP TO BEST IN GROUP & Open In Group - thanks to Judge:  Dr V Regina (Brazil) - Miss Toni was RUBOB.  We also entered Miss Toni at the open show for aspiring judges and she went Best in Group/Open in Group - Thanks to Judge: Mrs S Hewinson. Special thanks to Veronica Royston for her help.

Sunday again saw BJ get Best of Breed and he made the cut for Group - thanks to Veronica Royston (Beauideal Shetland Sheepdogs) for handling him for me today and Miss Toni was again RuBOB.

Maybe this is why these two dogs are such consistent winners

I had a lovely week up at Guyra and loved the cooler temperatures.  Also loved the Lemon Merangine Pie - the rest of the meals were pretty awesome too.  Thanks Trevor & Pat for your hospitality at the Guyra Park Motel.
